Kiawah Island Visitor Center

Kiawah Island, South Carolina

The Kiawah Island Visitor Center serves the resort as well as private homeowners as an arrival point for vacationers who rent houses on the island. Conceived as a house that has been converted to commercial use such as one might find at charming historic villages up and down the East Coast, the visitor center enables guests to check in to the properties they’ll be staying in and orients them to Kiawah’s many attractions. A broad brick-paved porch welcomes visitors to the reception hall; a separate entrance for employees leads to an office wing. Clad in sage-green painted shingles with white-painted classically-inspired trim, the building blends comfortably into its verdant surroundings.
